3.25 predict probabilities of outcomes from monohybrid crosses

If you are asked to work out the probability of a child inheriting a genotype, count how many times it comes up and divide it by 4. Then times by 100 to get a percentage.


For example, if you are given this diagram above and asked to work out the probability the offspring will inherit "Bb".
- First, count how many "Bb" are present. (2)
- Now divide 2 by 4
- Then *100 to make 50%
