2.57B understand how the rate of transpiration is affected by changes in humidity, wind speed, temperature and light intensity

There are 4 main limiting factors of transpiration.

Temperature:
-Increase in temperature: more kinetic energy in water particles, more evaporation, faster transpiration.
-Higher temperature=faster rate of transpiration

Humidity:
-humid means there are water vapour surrounding the plant.
-This creates a weaker concentration gradient therefore not much transpiration will occur.
-Drier=more transpiration

Wind:
-blows away water vapours so increases concentration gradient.
-more wind=more transpiration

Light Intensity:
-Stomata closes when dark. When stomata closes, little water can escape.
-brighter light=higher rate of transpiration.
