2.67 understand how factors may increase the risk of developing coronary heart disease

Causes of Coronary Heart Disease:

1. Poor diet:
-more saturated fat increases cholesterol levels, increasing chances of buildup of fatty plaques.

2. Stress:
-when under stress, hormones will be produced and increases blood pressure, allowing buildup of fatty plaque

3. Smoking:
-nicotine in cigarettes will cause blood vessels to become narrow, increasing blood pressure. This will cause a buildup of fatty plaque. If this occurs in the coronary artery, it will lead to coronary heart disease.
