2.65 describe the structure of the heart and how it functions

The heart can be thought of in four sections: the right atrium, the right ventricle, the left atrium, the left ventricle.

Process:
-vena cava pumps deoxygenated blood into right atrium
-right atrium receives deoxygenated blood, and moves into the right ventricle through the right atrio-ventricular valve.
-right ventricle pumps deoxygenated blood through pulmonary artery to lungs.

-pulmonary vein pumps oxygenated blood (from lungs) to left atrium.
-left atrium receives the oxygenated blood, and moves into the left ventricle through the left atrio-ventricular valve.
-left ventricle pumps oxygen through the aorta to distribute oxygen to organs.
